WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mildura, VIC

Back in action!

Together with some outside help our dedicated team has got Tuff'E'Nuff s83 back on the water. All systems were go on Tuesday at the North Arm during a test run.

To have the 21 footer back on the water so quickly is an achievement in itself. After sustaining heavy damage from a racing incident at Berri in January, everything is back to normal just 48 days after the accident happened.

This of course would not have happened without the many hours of labour that people have put into the restoration of the boat, nor would it have happened without the facility provided by Symons & Clark Transport.

Luke Thompson has sacrificed most of his weekends of late in order to complete the full respray. Together with help from expert spray painter Cosi Amato the guys have completed what some would call a work of art. As we can see by the pictures the boat is looking as good as new and full credit to Luke & Cosi who's skills are certainly up to the task.

While the work was being done on the hull Mouse took the opportunity to pull the engine down and check everything. All reports on the engine were good and although not essential he has put a new cam shaft into the 'big engine' for reasoning of his own.

After testing, driver Dave Clark had the following to say:

"All done, looks good, runs good, feels good. All good."

"It only took 48 days to turn the boat and engine around and there are some people I need to thank."

"First and foremost I have to thank my Father for all his help and support, for allowing us to do what we did and providing the facility at Symons & Clark Transport."

"Allowing us to work on the boat during business hours is the main reason it is back on the water and ready for the drags this weekend."

"Without his generosity it just wouldn't have happened."

"My family, Dad, Sally & James have all shown tremendous support."

"Rick Hudd must be thanked for getting the repairs done as quickly as he did, especially considering the temperatures he had to work in."

"Luke (Thomson) has put in a huge effort to get it all painted with lots of work on the weekends and he couldn't have done it without the help and support of Cosi Amato who's expertise is highly valued and the quality of work these boys have done speaks for itself when you see the boat- thanks guys."

"Cosi, Braydon and Connor Amato from the Port Panel Shoppe, Jeff, Adam and Ryan Stunell, these guys gave up a lot of their own time to lend a hand at night and on weekends."

"Also Jo Amato for feeding us on those late nights and early mornings- thanks for keeping us going when it mattered."

"Daniel Brynski, Selby and of course The Team: Big Don, David Murray, Lonik, Mouse, Luke Thompson and James."

"Rob Peach and Rob Casbar from Gasweld have shown tremendous support, thank you both."

"Malcolm Cameron and David Thorn of Signcraft have once again stickered up the boat for us, it looks better than ever."

"Can't forget Darren Evans from C.A.S canvas products, thank you."

"We would also like to thank the rest of our sponsors for all their help and support- they all make a big difference to the team."

"Thanks once again to our major sponsor Symons & Clark Transport."
