The Tuff'e'Nuff Racing Team have long since debriefed after our Windsor campaign and the main issue of concern has obviously been the boats tendancy to bury it's nose in the straight.
To eliminate any possible weaknesses in the boat a decision was made to replace some of the hull's running gear. Mouse, DM, Luke & the boys have wasted no time getting stuck into the work and Dave Clark has also been involved with stripping the boat down again.
After removing the skeg & cav gear it was noticed that the center wash plate was actually curved rather than straight. Although not 100% sure it is thought that this may be contributing to the straight line handling issues. More speed means more friction which makes more heat so these problems need to be monitored when the guys are pushing the envelope like they have been.
Considering the age of the cav gear it will be replaced before Yarrawonga, and as a further precaution two new drop through skegs are being constructed and will from now on be interchanged every 12 months along with the center wash plate.
"Obviously we want to try and stop it falling so heavily on its nose" Dave says.
"The boats in pieces at the moment but we'll have it ready in time for a couple of test sessions before we go to Yarrawonga, and we'll be trying the boat without the wing again."
"I've never been there before (Yarrawonga), I know people say it's rough but I just want to have a go and have some fun in the process."
