We have returned from our longest journey on the racing calendar with plenty of work still to do. Bundy Thunder at Sandy Hook in Queensland provided a great opportunity to get some laps done in the new look Tuff'E'Nuff.
Lap after lap we did. Every opportunity, every race that came up, we took it whether the boat was handling like it should or not. David Clark did so many laps in fact that despite being in the testing stages of his new look 21 footer he still managed to take the overall win in division 1 for the weekend.
Obviously persistence pays of. Piece by piece, step by step we are working towards making this boat handle the way it should and travel at speeds it used to in a straight line.
And move by move we are getting there.
As mentioned above we still have plenty of work to do on the boat. Mouse & his crew have not resorted to making radical changes on various parts of the boat but rather making small changes to one component at a time in order to more accurately pinpoint any possible problems.
Overall it was an enjoyable weekend and noticeably there was extensive interest in the new look boat from both boat racing enthusiast and also those from further outside our tight knit circle. We appreciate any interest that is shown by the public.
"The weekend was good." David Clark says of Bundy Thunder.
"We were trying a lot of different things (on the boat) to try and get it to handle better down the chute.
"Anyone can see that it's laying down at speed and that's something we have to improve.
"We've still got plenty to do but we're very confident that it can be sorted out.
"We're committed to getting this boat back to the speeds it used to be doing & the way it used to handle.
"We know what we've got to do and it won't happen by this Sunday by any means."
David & the boys will be out in force this Sunday at the Adelaide Speedboat Club's club day & you can expect to see the 21 foot Evercraft accompanied by James Clark's nipper boat along with Adam Stunell in the 25 horsepower Tuff'E'Nuff. See you there if you can make it!
