Photos: All The Torque Photography

Last Saturday the Tuff'E'Nuff B.A.D boat driven by David Clark ran the new 16/71 Hi Helix Retro Supercharger for the first time.
A mutual decision was made by the team leaders to take out some of the over-drive (initially set at 25% over) and the boat is still running much faster than the last 14/71 setup. Colder air in higher volume from the retro inlet has resulted in a significant jump in power output which has been made easier to handle with Mouse's custom made progressive throttle system.
David says he's confident feeding the power on but the extra torque basically means the guys are dealing with a whole new kettle of fish as far as handling charactieristics go. The boat has picked up extra speed but in some instances nose heavy at top end.
Each test lap showed improvement after the changes made but we still have some homework to do before the boat can put in some really quick laps.
The good news for our sponsors is that the boat has got some serious mumbo and once the race tune is spot on we hope to be right up the pointy end of the field.
So that's 200 litres of homework out the way, now we look towards opening day to get things 100% before the trip over to Windsor.
A massive thank you to Brett Niddrie who took time away from his family to assist with the testing. The BNR Engines front-man was even polite enough to drink a West End Draught can but we'd say he'll be sticking to his Bundies form now on.
