We are proud to announce that young James Clark has made his racing debut at the Berri Resort Hotel Speedboat Spectacular.
In just his first race James was among the biggest field of boats seen throughout the whole weekend and a bodged start resulted in absolute confusion with most of the drivers circling the stationary pole boat. Several of the larger junior boats cut in front of Lil' Tuff'E'Nuff in an attempt to get their starting line right and as a result James copped a couple of hose downs and was saturated when he returned to the pits.
The following races were much more organised and once separated into their individual classes James was able to get a clean run and started to enjoy the drive. When asked about the experience James said he had enjoyed himself but seemed to take things in his stride and like his dad never made a big deal about himself.
The nipper boat has been beautifully turned out and created quite a bit of interest over the weekend. The attention to detail is stunning and the likeness to the big Evercraft boat is amazing, complete with matching colours, steering wheel, signage and even a stick on Motec computer in the drivers cockpit. The chrome work sets the little boat off and on closer inspection one can see that a lot of time has been spent sanding & smoothing out the inside of the hull which is normally quite rough to touch. A BNR Engines sticker on the little outboard is a nice touch. What's more, James' boat is sporting race boat number s82 in honor of the late Jeff Thompson.
Completing the package is James' racing outfit- the same race suit, life jacket, ballistic pants & helmet make him a perfect "mini-me" version of his dad.
Check back soon for more stories & pictures of the new boat.
