Big year ahead for the Tuff'E'Nuff Racing Team

Our blown alcohol displacement may have been off the water since Windsor 2010 but the boys have been anything but idle.

James has been notching up plenty more laps in Lil' Tuff'E'Nuff at Adelaide and continues to do well and improve.

Meanwhile, our newest addition to the team is none other than Adam Stunell. His newly branded Tuff'E'Nuff boat has been re painted and is beautifully presented thanks to some hard work by Thommo & Mouse. Adam represented the team at Melton last month and also at Adelaide on the 6th of March and has been racing well (pictured below racing his brother Ryan).

The 25hp boat featured in the "not so celebrity race" at Adelaide's last club day. Dave led the entire race with a smooth drive but was overrun on the last lap by 'Shortcut' driven hard by Trevor Stanley. Being the first celebrity race at Adelaide in over a decade, Dave was looking to take another win after proving victorious in the last race so many years ago.

On the big end of our race teams scale, Mouse & the crew have been pushing to complete the retrofit of our reinforced cockpit that began in October last year.

Working with Dean Borg of Proformance Marine, the guys have customised their cell and constructed it with carbon fibre which has a total weight of little more than 30kg. Furthermore, the fitment of the cockpit has resulted in Dave's driving position being completely un-altered.

The boat itself has also had every piece of running gear replaced. New skeg, cav gear, wash plate, prop shaft, engine bearers - you name it, it's brand new. All the boxes have been ticked in readiness for the fitment of the 'big engine' sporting around 1700 horsepower.

"We're hoping to have everything finished by June/July ready for some testing" Dave Clark says.

"It (the boat) is looking really good- the cell sits nice and low and I haven't had to change my driving position whatsoever, everything's killa."

"And we're not just doing the bare minimum with the retro fit- we're doing everything we can to make the boat as good as possible and have replaced everything on it."

"We'll soon have it back from Borgie and it will be ready for painting."

"I would still drive an open boat any day, but I'm prepared to take the next step and I hope more (drivers) will follow once they see our setup."
