John Cross - Race In Peace

This November we have lost a true friend.

We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of John Cross who was taken at Yarrawonga on Sunday as he crossed the finish line in the final race of the Marjorie Watson Trophy.

He died doing what he loved and what he did best. 'Crossy', 'The Energizer' as per his custom had 5,000 people on their feet, watching in awe of his unbelievable driving ability which saw him qualify in pole position 1 driving 'Rival' and pole position 3 driving 'Miscreant'.

Even more unbelievable is the fact he is gone, something that is hard for us to accept, but we must.

The man who we so highly respected and who we thought was 'bulletproof' will live now only in memory, memories that we will cherish and honor forever.

We will never forget our favorite larrikin, a friendly wild man, such a unique personality who was not only a dear friend to share laughter with but a mentor to our entire race team and others.

When Crossy drove our Tuff'e'Nuff boat at Mildura last year for the very first time, it was a monumental effort. The memory of that day remains clear as rain in not only our minds but for anyone who witnessed it. The very sound of the engine with Crossy at the helm gave a note that breathed utter confidence and supreme ability, one that very few race drivers can match.

David & Sally Clark, James, Andrew, Dave Murray, Thommo, Big Don, Lonik & their families would like to express heartfelt condolences to John's friends and family- words cannot express your pain. Always remember that we all have nothing but fond memories of this great man and he will be in our hearts forever.

Race in peace Crossy - we love you mate.
